The old town centre has limited vehicle access, so the driver stops at the nearest permitted road and the final stretch is a short walk. Summer weekends can slow traffic on the approach roads to the resort.
Side's historic centre is compact: the ancient theatre, the main street of shops and the harbour with its fish restaurants are all within a few minutes' walk. Hotels inside the old town are mostly small and some are reached only on foot, while larger resort hotels stand along the sandy beaches on either side of the peninsula. Nearby are the Manavgat waterfall and the town of Manavgat. The beaches are busiest from June to September; outside the season many restaurants and shops close.
