Roskilde is a historic city on Roskilde Fjord, west of Copenhagen, with a UNESCO-listed cathedral that is the burial place of Danish monarchs and a Viking Ship Museum. Traffic on the corridor is heavy at rush hour, and during the Roskilde Festival in late June and early July the roads and parking areas around the city are very busy. The Viking Ship Museum is on the fjord shore about 15 minutes' walk from the station, and the pedestrian street Algade runs through the middle of the old town.
