Getting from Copenhagen Airport (CPH) to Ystad takes about 1h 15min by car on an empty road (75–90 min in heavy traffic) over 87 km via E 65 and E 20. Our private transfer costs €310 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €380 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the terminal where your flight lands (Terminal 2 or Terminal 3), after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, with a sign showing your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
Ystad is a small port town on Skåne's south coast, known as the setting of the Wallander crime stories and for its half-timbered houses, and as the ferry port to the Danish island of Bornholm. The drive from the airport crosses the Øresund Bridge and continues south-east along the coast road, through the Skåne farmland. The old town centre has narrow, partly pedestrian streets, so the driver stops at the nearest permitted road. Summer weekends bring beachgoers and Bornholm ferry traffic.
Ystad's old town is a grid of cobbled streets with timber-framed houses, centred on the Stortorget square and St Mary's Church. The harbour and ferry terminal for Bornholm are a short walk from the square, and the railway station is right beside the harbour. The Wallander tour and Ystad Studios film studio are visitor attractions. Sandhammaren beach, with its dunes, is a short drive east. Hotels are in the old town and by the harbour.
Public transport: No direct public service was. The usual route is a train over the bridge to Malmö and a regional train to Ystad.
