Faro → city centre · about 10 km · about 20 min · fixed price €35 per vehicle.
Price calculated. Change the date or destination if you like.
A private transfer from Faro Airport (FAO) to Faro city centre costs €35 per car for 1–3 passengers and €40 per van for 4–8. It is a fixed price for the whole vehicle, the same amount you pay when you book. The road distance is 10 km; the drive takes about 20 min with clear roads, so plan on 20–30 min at busy times.
Where the driver waits: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the airport's single terminal, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, with a sign showing your name. We track your flight and the first 60 minutes after landing are free; the driver helps with your luggage.
Faro's airport is only about 6 km west of the centre, so the ride takes minutes along the EN125 and the Avenida 5 de Outubro. The old town, the Vila-a-Dentro, is walled and partly pedestrian, with entry through the Arco da Vila, and car access is limited to residents. Drop-off is at the marina side or the nearest open street. The Ria Formosa lagoon lies just to the east and south.
Faro's old town, the Cidade Velha, lies behind the Arco da Vila gate and is reached on foot from the harbour and marina. Inside are the Sé cathedral, the Municipal Museum in a former convent, and the Praça Dom Afonso III just outside the walls. The pedestrian shopping street Rua de Santo António leads to the Jardim Manuel Bivar by the marina. The Ria Formosa lagoon boats leave from the quay, and Faro beach lies on an island reached by a short ferry or footbridge. Winters are mild, and the city is quietest in January.
