Getting from Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) to Cassis takes about 55 min by car on an empty road (55–70 min in heavy traffic) over 56 km via D 559 and A 551. Our private transfer costs €110 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €160 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the Marseille Provence terminal, just after the baggage reclaim, holding a sign with your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
Cassis is a fishing village on the Mediterranean coast, 40 km south-east of Marseille, known for its harbour, the Cap Canaille cliffs and the Calanques national park that begins just outside the village. The route uses the A55 and the A50 and then the D559. The village centre near the port is pedestrian in parts and parking is limited, and the access road to the Calanques is closed to cars in summer when fire risk is high. The railway station is about 3 km from the harbour.
The village of Cassis is built around a small fishing harbour, with houses in warm colours facing the quay and cafés along it. The Cap Canaille, a sea cliff about 394 metres high, rises to the east. The calanques of Port-Miou, Port-Pin and En-Vau are reached on foot or by boat from the harbour, and boat tours leave from the quay. A pebble beach, the Grande Mer, lies beside the harbour. The Route des Crêtes toward La Ciotat is closed in strong wind. August is very crowded, while winter is quiet.
Public transport instead: SNCF TER train TER from Marseille Saint-Charles (after the airport shuttle) to Cassis — about 20–25 min, several per day, 1 change.
