Getting from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) to Versailles takes about 45 min by car on an empty road (45–60 min in heavy traffic) over 48 km via A 1 and Boulevard Périphérique Extérieur. Our private transfer costs €120 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €170 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the terminal your flight lands at (T1, T2 or T3), after the baggage reclaim and customs exit, holding a sign with your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
Versailles lies about 20 km south-west of Paris and 55 km from Charles de Gaulle, and is famous for the Château de Versailles, its gardens, the Hall of Mirrors and the Grand Trianon. The road route skirts Paris via the A86 or the Périphérique and the A13, with the N10 for the last part. Châteaux visits are closed on Mondays, and the gardens have musical fountain shows on selected days. Cars drop off on or near the Place d'Armes, in front of the château. Weekend queues form at the entrance.
The Château de Versailles stands at the end of the Avenue de Paris, and the three avenues that fan out from the Place d'Armes are the main lines of the town. The gardens behind the château are large, and the Grand Trianon and the Petit Trianon, with the Queen's Hamlet, are about a kilometre and a half from it. The Notre-Dame market in the old town is open on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Versailles Château Rive Gauche station is about ten minutes' walk from the château. Fountain shows in the gardens are held on selected days from spring to autumn.
Public transport instead: RATP / SNCF RER RER B + RER C from Aéroport CDG to Versailles Château Rive Gauche (change at Saint-Michel–Notre-Dame) — about 1h 15min – 1h 40min, every 15 min, 1 change.
