Tamraght is a small coastal town about 15 km north of Agadir, between Aourir and Taghazout, known for surf camps and guesthouses on the hillside above the sea. The route from the airport runs west to Agadir and then north along the N1 coast road through Anza and Aourir, where the road passes the banana plantations that give Banana Beach its name. The town is spread along both sides of the main road, with steep lanes climbing inland.
Most guesthouses and surf houses are in the lanes on the slope above the N1, and a car can usually reach them, although some of the upper streets are narrow and unpaved. Devil's Rock beach lies just south of the centre, and Banana Beach and Aourir are a short walk or drive further south. Taghazout is about 5 km north along the coast road. The town is quietest in summer and busiest in the autumn-to-spring surf season.
Public transport: There is no direct public transport from the airport to Tamraght. ALSA's AE Aerobus links the airport with the Vallee des Oiseaux hub in central Agadir (50 MAD single, about 50 min); local ALSA buses continue north along the coast road.
