Getting from Bastia Airport (BIA) to Corte takes about 55 min by car on an empty road (55–70 min in heavy traffic) over 54 km via T 20. Our private transfer costs €140 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €200 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits in the arrivals area of the single terminal at Bastia-Poretta, after baggage reclaim, holding a sign with your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
Corte is the historic capital of Corsica and its only university town, set in the centre of the island between the Tavignano and Restonica valleys. From the airport the route runs south to Casamozza and then follows the T20 up the Golo valley through Ponte-Leccia and Francardo. It is a two-lane mountain road with heavy lorry traffic and few overtaking places, so travel time depends on traffic. Corte is also the main stop on the island's railway between Bastia and Ajaccio.
The citadel stands on a rocky spur above the town and houses the Museum of Corsica. Below it, the steep upper town climbs from Place Paoli and Place Gaffory, while the Cours Paoli, the main street with shops and cafés, runs through the lower town towards the university and the station. The upper lanes are narrow and partly closed to traffic, so cars stop at Place Paoli or the citadel car parks. The Restonica valley road starts at the edge of town and is a base for summer hiking and the GR20.
Public transport instead: STIB (Société de transports Interurbains Bastiais) bus Navette Aéroport – Bastia from Bastia-Poretta airport, in front of the main arrivals exit to Bastia, Préfecture stop (opposite the railway station) — about 25–30 min, €10.00 single ticket, about 8–14 departures a day, timed weekly to flight arrivals. Chemins de fer de la Corse (CFC) train Bastia – Ajaccio from Bastia station (opposite the shuttle's Préfecture stop) to Corte station — about 1h 40min – 2h, 6 trains a day (timetable 31 August – 1 November 2026), 1 change. No direct connection from the airport. The shortest public option is the STIB shuttle to Bastia and then the Bastia – Ajaccio train to Corte; Casamozza station on the same line is about 3 km from the terminal but is not served by the airport shuttle.
