Meeting point: The driver waits in the arrivals area of the single terminal at Bastia-Poretta, after baggage reclaim, holding a sign with your name. Flight tracking is included, the first hour after landing is free waiting time, and the driver carries your bags to the car.
Saint-Florent is a small port town at the head of the Gulf of Saint-Florent, the main town of the Nebbio and the gateway to the Agriates coast. From the airport the road crosses the plain north towards Biguglia, then climbs west through the Lancone gorge to the San Stefano pass and descends through the vineyards of Oletta and Patrimonio. The alternative route goes through Bastia and over the Teghime pass. Both are winding mountain roads, and summer traffic into Saint-Florent can be slow at the town entrance.
The old town sits on a small headland between the marina and the Aliso river, with the round Genoese citadel above the harbour and the Place des Portes at its centre. Hotels and rental houses spread along the beach of the Roya to the west and up the hills towards Patrimonio. In summer, boats leave the marina for the Lotu and Saleccia beaches in the Agriates, which have no paved road access. The Pisan church of Santa Maria Assunta stands about 1 km east of the centre.
Public transport instead: STIB (Société de transports Interurbains Bastiais) bus Navette Aéroport – Bastia from Bastia-Poretta airport, in front of the main arrivals exit to Bastia, Préfecture stop (opposite the railway station) — about 25–30 min, €10.00 single ticket, about 8–14 departures a day, timed weekly to flight arrivals. No direct public transport from Bastia airport to Saint-Florent. The shortest combination is the STIB airport shuttle to Bastia and then a regional coach from Bastia to Saint-Florent (few departures, timetable from the operator).
