Erbalunga is a fishing hamlet of the commune of Brando, on the east coast of Cap Corse about 10 km north of Bastia. From the airport the route follows the T11 into Bastia, crosses the city near the ferry port and continues north on the D80 coast road through Pietranera, Miomo and Lavasina. The road through Bastia is the slowest part at rush hour and when ferries unload. Beyond the city the D80 is a narrow two-lane road along the sea with many bends.
The old village sits on a rocky point with tall stone houses built over the water, a small harbour and the ruins of a Genoese tower at the tip. Its lanes are narrow and mostly pedestrian, so cars stop at the car parks and on the D80 at the entrance of the village. The pebble beach of Erbalunga lies just south of the point, and the hamlets of Brando climb the hillside behind. In summer the village hosts a piano festival, and its Good Friday procession, the Cerca, is one of the best known on the island.
Public transport instead: STIB (Société de transports Interurbains Bastiais) bus Navette Aéroport – Bastia from Bastia-Poretta airport, in front of the main arrivals exit to Bastia, Préfecture stop (opposite the railway station) — about 25–30 min, €10.00 single ticket, about 8–14 departures a day, timed weekly to flight arrivals. No direct public transport from Bastia airport to Erbalunga. The shortest combination is the STIB airport shuttle to Bastia and then a local bus north along the Cap Corse coast road (timetable from the operator).
