Getting from Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) to Ston takes about 1h 30min by car on an empty road (1h 30min – 1h 50min in heavy traffic) over 72 km via D8 and 6295. Our private transfer costs €150 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €210 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the airport terminal, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
Ston is a small town on the Pelješac peninsula, about 60 km north-west of the airport. The route follows the D8 coastal road north-west from Dubrovnik, then crosses the Pelješac bridge and continues on the peninsula road. Since 2022 the bridge bypasses the Neum corridor of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so no border crossing is needed on the way to Ston. The road is scenic but slow in summer.
Ston is known for its 5.5 km defensive walls linking Ston and Mali Ston across the hill, and for the nearby salt pans and the oyster beds of Mali Ston Bay. Walking the walls takes about an hour and has a ticket at the town gates. Restaurants serving oysters are in Mali Ston and Ston itself, and both villages are small and flat. The car can stop right by the town gates, and the road continues west to Orebić and the Pelješac vineyards.
Public transport: No direct service from the airport. Intercity coaches between Dubrovnik and Split call at Ston from the Dubrovnik bus station, so a change in Dubrovnik is needed.
