Efteling is a fairy-tale theme park in Kaatsheuvel in North Brabant, about 45 km from Eindhoven Airport. The drive follows the A2 north to the Den Bosch area and then the A59 and N261 towards Kaatsheuvel, passing the Loonse en Drunense Duinen national park. The park has its own large car parks and entrances, and drop-off is at the main entrance area. Weekends, school holidays and the winter-season Winter Efteling bring heavy queues on the final approach roads, and opening times differ by day.
The Efteling park lies in Kaatsheuvel, on the edge of the Loonse en Drunense Duinen national park. It opened in 1952 as a fairy-tale forest and still keeps that theme, with rides such as the Python, the Baron 1898 and Symbolica, and the Efteling Hotel stands next to the park. The park is open daily in the main season and on selected days in winter, when Winter Efteling runs from November to January. Weekends in July and August and school holidays are the busiest times.
Public transport: No direct public transport; bus to Eindhoven Centraal, train to Tilburg or 's-Hertogenbosch, then a regional bus.
