Getting from Kos Airport (KGS) to Tigaki takes about 25 min by car on an empty road (25–35 min in heavy traffic) over 16 km. Our private transfer costs €50 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €70 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the airport terminal, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
Tigaki is a seaside village on the north coast of Kos, about 15 km from the airport. The route goes north on the main road via Zipari and takes 15 to 20 minutes. The area is flat and the road is straight. Tigaki is a quiet resort in comparison with Kos town, and the roads are mainly local. Its long beach is open to the wind from the north.
Tigaki has a long sandy beach backed by dunes, a salt lake with flamingos in winter, and a small centre of tavernas and shops. Hotels and apartments are spread along the beach road. The village is flat and good for cycling, with a bike path leading east to Kos town. The car can stop at the hotel entrances. Mastichari and the ferry to Kalymnos lie to the west, and Kos town is about 12 km to the east.
Public transport: No direct public service from the airport; the usual route is the airport bus to Kos town and a local bus north-east to Tigaki.
