Cinque Terre from Pisa Airport (PSA) by private transfer: €230 per car (1–3 people) or €280 per van (4–8), fixed per vehicle and identical to the checkout price. On the road it is 118 km via A12 and SP38, roughly 1h 30min when traffic is light and 1h 30min – 1h 55min when it is not.
Meeting point: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the Pisa airport terminal, just after the baggage reclaim, holding a sign with your name. Flight tracking is included, the first hour after landing is free waiting time, and the driver carries your bags to the car.
The Cinque Terre lie about 90 km north of Pisa, a string of five villages on steep Ligurian cliffs inside a UNESCO-listed national park. The drive uses the A12 motorway to La Spezia and then local provincial roads to the villages. Private cars are not allowed into the villages, and parking is at the edge, for example above Monterosso or in La Spezia. The villages are linked by the Cinque Terre train, ferries in season and the Sentiero Azzurro footpath, parts of which are closed at times for landslide repairs.
Visitors from the south usually begin at La Spezia, where the Cinque Terre trains leave from the main station. Riomaggiore, the first village, has a small harbour, and Manarola stands above steep terraces of vines and olives where the local sweet wine Sciacchetrà is made. Vernazza has a harbour square beside a castle tower, and Monterosso has the longest beach. Some stretches of the coastal path require a ticket or the Cinque Terre Card. Spring and early autumn are busy, and August is very crowded.
Public transport instead: Trenitalia train Regionale from Pisa Centrale (after PisaMover from the airport) to La Spezia Centrale, then Cinque Terre villages — about 1h 30min – 2h, about hourly, 2 changes.
