Lindos is a village on the east coast of Rhodes, about 55 km from the airport, dominated by its acropolis. The route crosses to the east coast near Rhodes Town and follows the national road south via Kalathos, a drive of about 1 hour. The last kilometres are on a narrow road, and cars are not allowed into the village itself. Parking is at the large car park at the entrance of the village.
Lindos is a village of whitewashed houses and narrow stepped lanes beneath the Acropolis with its Doric Temple of Athena Lindia. Donkeys carry visitors up to the Acropolis, or one can walk up in about 15 minutes. St Paul's Bay lies in a small cove nearby. Hotels are in the village and on the slopes outside it, and the car cannot reach the lanes of the village. The Acropolis is busiest at midday and in the late morning in summer.
Public transport: No direct public service from the airport; the usual route is the airport bus to Rhodes town and a KTEL coach to Lindos.
