A private transfer from Rhodes Airport (RHO) to Rhodes city centre costs €45 per car for 1–3 passengers and €50 per van for 4–8. It is a fixed price for the whole vehicle, the same amount you pay when you book. The road distance is 15 km; the drive takes about 20 min with clear roads, so plan on 20–30 min at busy times.
Where the driver waits: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the airport terminal, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. We track your flight and the first 60 minutes after landing are free; the driver helps with your luggage.
Rhodes airport is at Paradisi on the west coast, about 14 km from Rhodes Town. The drive takes 20 to 25 minutes along the coast road past Ixia and Ialysos. In July and August, there is heavy traffic along the coast road near Ixia, and the Old Town can be approached only through its gates. Only residents and hotels in the Old Town may drive in, so visitors are usually dropped at the nearest gate.
The medieval Old Town of Rhodes is a UNESCO World Heritage site, enclosed by walls with the Palace of the Grand Master and the Street of the Knights. Most visitors stay in the new town to the north, around Mandraki harbour with the two deer statues and the Elli beach, or in the Old Town itself. Gates such as Eleftherias and the Marine Gate lead into the Old Town. Cruise ships dock at the commercial port next to the walls.
Public transport instead: RODA (Rhodes urban bus) bus Airport - Rhodes town from Airport to Rhodes town (West bus station) — about 30–45 min, several departures per day.
