Rome Fiumicino → city centre · about 38 km · about 50 min · fixed price €80 per vehicle.
Price calculated. Change the date or destination if you like.
A private transfer from Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) to Rome city centre costs €80 per car for 1–3 passengers and €110 per van for 4–8. It is a fixed price for the whole vehicle, the same amount you pay when you book. The road distance is 38 km via A91; the drive takes about 50 min with clear roads, so plan on 50–65 min at busy times.
Where the driver waits: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the terminal your flight lands at (T1, T3 or T5), just after the baggage reclaim and customs, holding a sign with your name. We track your flight and the first 60 minutes after landing are free; the driver helps with your luggage.
Rome's historic centre lies about 30 km north-east of Fiumicino, reached by the A91 and then the GRA ring road. The Centro Storico is a large ZTL, a limited-traffic zone with camera-controlled access, and the Vatican area and the Tridente are partly pedestrian. The driver therefore takes the nearest permitted street, often at the edge of the zone, and the last stretch to a hotel on a narrow lane may be on foot. Rush hours slow the A91 and the GRA, and large events at the Vatican or the Colosseum close surrounding streets.
The Centro Storico lies on the east bank of the Tiber and holds the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, all within about a kilometre of each other. The Vatican and St Peter's Basilica lie west of the river, and the Colosseum and the Roman Forum south-east. Roma Termini is on the east side, about 1.5 km from Trevi. The district of Trastevere, across the river, has small lanes and restaurants. Holy Week, Christmas and the summer months bring the biggest crowds.
Public transport instead: Trenitalia train Leonardo Express from Fiumicino Aeroporto to Roma Termini — about 31–35 min, €14.00 single ticket, every 15 min. Trenitalia train FL1 from Fiumicino Aeroporto to Roma Trastevere / Ostiense / Tiburtina — about 30–48 min, €8.00 single ticket, every 15-30 min.
