Getting from Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) to Sithonia takes about 1h 25min by car on an empty road (1h 25min – 1h 45min in heavy traffic) over 88 km via A24. Our private transfer costs €180 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €220 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the airport terminal, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
Sithonia is the middle peninsula of Chalkidiki, about 110 to 150 km from the airport depending on the resort. The route goes via the Egnatia Odos and Nea Moudania, then south on the roads to Nikiti and Neos Marmaras. The drive takes 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours and 15 minutes. The roads are single carriageway and winding in the south, and summer traffic is heavy. The coastal road is scenic, with many viewpoints.
Sithonia is greener and less built-up than Kassandra, with pine forests down to the coast and small coves. The main resort bases are Nikiti, Neos Marmaras, Sarti and Vourvourou. The Diaporos islands are a boat trip from Vourvourou, and Sarti has views of Mount Athos across the water. Hotels are along the coast roads and in the villages. The distances between the beaches are long, so the exact place matters for the drive time.
Public transport: No direct public service from the airport; the usual route is via Thessaloniki to the KTEL Chalkidiki bus station and a coach to the main villages of Sithonia.
