The drive takes 20 to 30 minutes on the ring road (Peripheriaki) and Egnatia Odos junctions into the city, then along Vasilissis Olgas or the waterfront. The ring road is busy at morning and evening rush hours, and the waterfront near the White Tower is closed to cars during events and marathons. The streets of the centre are narrow, and parking is difficult.
