Getting from Tivat Airport (TIV) to Budva takes about 25 min by car on an empty road (25–35 min in heavy traffic) over 19 km via M-1. Our private transfer costs €50 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €70 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the Tivat Airport passenger terminal, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
Budva is the largest resort on the Montenegrin coast, south-east of the Bay of Kotor on the open Adriatic. From the airport the road heads inland through the Grbalj valley and descends to the sea at Jaz before entering Budva along the Adriatic Highway (Jadranska magistrala). The airport operator gives the distance as about 21 km and the drive at around 27 minutes. In July and August the approach to Budva and the main road through the town are often congested, especially in the evening.
Budva's walled old town stands on a small headland, with the Citadela at its seaward tip, narrow stone lanes and squares inside, and no car access. The marina lies beside its land walls. To the east stretches the long Slovenska beach with the modern town and many hotels behind it, while Mogren beach is reached on foot along a cliff path west of the walls. Further east along the bay are the hotel areas of Bečići and Rafailovići. Cars can stop on the streets around the old town and directly at most hotels in the newer part of town.
Public transport: No public transport service is published by the airport operator for Tivat Airport; intercity buses towards Budva pass on the coastal main road, but no official timetable for an airport stop was found.
