The road leaves the airport on the perimeter road, joins the SR62 western bypass and the city ring roads, and enters the centre past the Porta Nuova railway station along Corso Porta Nuova. The historic centre is a limited traffic zone (ZTL), so the driver stops at the nearest point open to traffic, for example at Piazza Bra or at the hotel entrance if it has access permission.
Piazza Bra, with the Roman Arena and the Liston promenade, is the usual arrival point in the centre. From there Via Mazzini, a pedestrian shopping street, leads to Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza dei Signori, and Juliet's House on Via Cappello is a few minutes further on foot. Castelvecchio and its bridge lie west of the Arena along Corso Cavour, while Ponte Pietra and the Duomo are in the northern loop of the Adige. Across the river, Veronetta and the hill of Castel San Pietro complete the old town; Porta Nuova station is about 1.5 km south of Piazza Bra.
