Amsterdam Schiphol → city centre · about 18 km · about 25 min · fixed price €65 per vehicle.
Price calculated. Change the date or destination if you like.
A private transfer from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) to Amsterdam city centre costs €65 per car for 1–3 passengers and €90 per van for 4–8. It is a fixed price for the whole vehicle, the same amount you pay when you book. The road distance is 18 km via A4; the drive takes about 25 min with clear roads, so plan on 25–35 min at busy times.
Where the driver waits: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of Schiphol's single terminal building, just beyond the baggage reclaim and customs exit (the Schiphol Plaza side), holding a sign with your name. We track your flight and the first 60 minutes after landing are free; the driver helps with your luggage.
Amsterdam Centraal sits on the IJ waterfront at the northern edge of the old canal belt, and most hotels in the Canal Ring are a tram ride or a 10-20 minute walk from it. By road the A4 leads from Schiphol towards the A10 ring, which circles the city; the last part runs through narrow streets along canals where many are one-way or closed to non-resident cars. Parts of the historic centre are low-emission and limited-access, so a driver stops at the nearest legal point and the final stretch to some canal-side doors is on foot. Weekday rush hours slow the A10 considerably.
Most visitors stay in the Centrum district around Dam Square, where the Royal Palace and the Nieuwe Kerk stand, or along the three main canals of the Canal Ring: Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht. West of the ring lies the Jordaan, a quarter of small streets and galleries, while the Museum Quarter with the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and Museumplein is to the south. The walk from Amsterdam Centraal to Dam Square takes about ten minutes. King's Day on 27 April turns many streets into crowded street markets and closes some to traffic.
Public transport instead: NS train Intercity / Sprinter from Schiphol Airport station to Amsterdam Centraal — about 15–20 min, every 5-10 min in the day.
