Getting from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) to Keukenhof takes about 25 min by car on an empty road (25–35 min in heavy traffic) over 22 km via A4 and N207. Our private transfer costs €70 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €100 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of Schiphol's single terminal building, just beyond the baggage reclaim and customs exit (the Schiphol Plaza side), holding a sign with your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
Keukenhof is a flower park near Lisse in the Bollenstreek, the bulb-growing region between Haarlem and Leiden, and it opens only for about eight weeks each spring. The drive from Schiphol is short, taking the A4 south, the N207 through the bulb fields to Lisse. In peak tulip weeks the approach roads fill up and a car cannot reach the entrance directly; the park has its own car parks and entry uses timed tickets booked in advance. Fields along the road are private and stopping on the verge is not permitted.
The park occupies about 32 hectares at Lisse, on the edge of the Bollenstreek, and is known for its landscaped gardens with millions of spring bulbs and for indoor flower shows in the pavilions. Around it stretch commercial bulb fields, which are private land and are best seen from the road or a bike path. The villages of Lisse and Hillegom are close, and the coast at Noordwijk lies a short drive to the west. The season lasts about eight weeks from late March to mid-May, and the peak colour depends on the weather of the year.
Public transport instead: Keukenhof Express (seasonal) bus 858 from Schiphol Plaza bus area to Keukenhof, seasonal, only during the tulip season (late March to mid-May). No year-round public transport; seasonal Keukenhof Express buses only.
