Athens → city centre · about 34 km · about 35 min · fixed price €50 per vehicle.
Price calculated. Change the date or destination if you like.
A private transfer from Athens Airport (ATH) to Athens city centre costs €50 per car for 1–3 passengers and €95 per van for 4–8. It is a fixed price for the whole vehicle, the same amount you pay when you book. The road distance is 34 km via A6 and A62; the drive takes about 35 min with clear roads, so plan on 35–45 min at busy times.
Where the driver waits: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the airport's main terminal building, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. We track your flight and the first 60 minutes after landing are free; the driver helps with your luggage.
The centre of Athens lies roughly 35 km west-south of the airport, reached by the Attiki Odos toll motorway and then Mesogeion Avenue or the Kifissias and Syngrou corridors. Motorway tolls apply. Traffic builds sharply on weekday mornings and on Friday evenings, and the final approach to Syntagma and Plaka is slow at any hour. The streets directly around the Acropolis and Plaka are partly pedestrianised, so the driver stops at the nearest open street.
Central Athens is compact: Syntagma Square with the Parliament, Plaka and Monastiraki sit below the Acropolis, and Omonia and the Archaeological Museum lie a short walk to the north. Many hotels cluster around Syntagma, Plaka, Monastiraki and Koukaki. Plaka and parts of Monastiraki and the Dionysiou Areopagitou promenade are pedestrian zones, so the final stretch is on foot. Summer afternoons are hot, and the Acropolis area is busiest in the morning and around cruise-ship days.
Public transport instead: Athens Metro metro Line 3 (blue) from Airport station to Syntagma — about 40 min, €9.00 single ticket, about every 30 minutes. OASA bus X95 from Airport to Syntagma Square — about 1h, €5.50 single ticket, 24 hours, several times per hour.
