Private transfer, Athens Airport (ATH) to Nafplio: the car (1–3 passengers) is €260 and the van (4–8) is €320, a set price for the vehicle that does not change at checkout. Expect 170 km on the road via A8 and A6; about 2h 20min off-peak, 2h 20min – 2h 50min in rush hour.
Pickup: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the airport's main terminal building, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. The booking includes flight monitoring and an hour of free waiting from touchdown; your bags are loaded for you.
Nafplio is a harbour town in the Peloponnese, roughly 140 km from the airport. The road runs on the Attiki Odos, the Athens-Corinth motorway, then the Corinth-Tripoli-Kalamata motorway (Moreas) towards Argos before the final stretch into Nafplio. Tolls are charged on the motorways. The crossing of the Corinth Canal is part of the route. Weekend traffic is heavier on Sunday evenings as visitors return to Athens.
The old town of Nafplio lies at the foot of the Palamidi fortress, with Syntagma Square, narrow lanes and neoclassical houses a few minutes from the seafront promenade. The old centre is largely closed to cars, so vehicles stop at the edge near the port or the car parks by the waterfront. Nearby sites often combined with a visit are the Epidaurus theatre and Tiryns, all within roughly 30 to 45 minutes by road.
Public transport: No direct public transport from the airport. The usual route is via central Athens to the Kifissos bus station and then a KTEL Argolida coach to Nafplio.
