Santa Giulia is a sheltered bay south of Porto-Vecchio with a curved white beach and very shallow turquoise water, closed on the land side by a coastal lagoon. It is one of the closest resort areas to the airport: the route leaves on the D322 and the D859, then takes the D459 east through the maquis and joins the T10 for the last few kilomètres down to the bay. The roads are quiet out of season, but in high summer the access road to the beach fills up in the late morning.
Hotels, holiday villages and residences line the bay and the hillsides around it, most with their own access roads, so the driver goes straight to the reception. The beach is lined with beach restaurants and water-sports bases, and the lagoon of Santa Giulia lies behind the dunes on the western side. Palombaggia is a few kilomètres north along the coast and the Rondinara bay further south towards Bonifacio. Most beach services operate from spring to autumn.
Public transport: No public bus serves Santa Giulia from the airport; the airport shuttles end at Porto-Vecchio bus station.
