Heraklion → city centre · about 6 km · about 10 min · fixed price €25 per vehicle.
Price calculated. Change the date or destination if you like.
A private transfer from Heraklion Airport (HER) to Heraklion city centre costs €25 per car for 1–3 passengers and €45 per van for 4–8. It is a fixed price for the whole vehicle, the same amount you pay when you book. The road distance is 6 km; the drive takes about 10 min with clear roads, so plan on 10–20 min at busy times.
Where the driver waits: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the airport terminal, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. We track your flight and the first 60 minutes after landing are free; the driver helps with your luggage.
Heraklion airport is one of the closest to a city centre in Europe, only about 5 km east of the centre, so the drive takes 10 to 20 minutes via the coastal Leoforos Dimokratias or the airport road to the harbour. Traffic builds on the seafront road in the morning and evening. The streets around the Venetian harbour and Lion Square are narrow and partly pedestrian, so the driver stops at the nearest open street.
The old centre of Heraklion is enclosed by Venetian walls, with the Venetian harbour and Koules fortress at its northern edge and Lion Square (Morosini fountain) in the middle. The Archaeological Museum, one of the major museums of Minoan art, is a few minutes from Eleftherias Square. The 25th August street is a pedestrian shopping street. Many hotels are along the seafront at Amnissos and Ammoudara, west and east of the centre, and the KTEL bus stations are at the harbour.
