Meeting point: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the airport terminal, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. Flight tracking is included, the first hour after landing is free waiting time, and the driver carries your bags to the car.
Paleokastritsa is a bay resort on the west coast of Corfu, about 25 km north-west of the airport. The road crosses the island via Kontokali and Skripero, climbing through olive groves, and takes about 35 to 40 minutes. The final descent to the bay is narrow and winding. In July and August, the traffic along the last kilometres is heavy and parking by the beach is limited.
Paleokastritsa lies around several small coves with clear water, the Theotokos monastery on a headland, and the Angelokastro castle on a cliff to the north. Hotels and apartments are spread over the slopes above the bays, and the seafront has tavernas and boat rental stands. Boat trips to the sea caves leave from the harbour. The car can drop passengers near the central bay, and some hotels on the slopes are reached by steep access roads.
Public transport: No direct public service from the airport; the usual route is the town bus to the Corfu KTEL station and a KTEL coach to Paleokastritsa.
