Agios Prokopios is a beach resort on the west coast of Naxos, a few kilometres south of the airport. The road runs south from the airport across low ground past the salt flats of Alyki, then turns towards the coast, a drive of roughly ten minutes. The resort grew around one long sandy beach and is quieter than Chora, but the single access road and limited parking get busy on summer afternoons when visitors come for the beach.
The beach at Agios Prokopios is about a kilometre of sand with clear water, backed by a road lined with hotels, apartments, tavernas and small supermarkets. Most places to stay are on this road or on the slope behind it, so cars can reach the entrance of nearly every property. The Kokkina Spitia area sits at the northern end, and the small salt lake near the airport lies just inland. Agia Anna begins immediately to the south, linked by a coastal path, and Chora is about 5 km to the north.
