Getting from Naples Airport (NAP) to Amalfi Coast takes about 1h 20min by car on an empty road (1h 20min – 1h 40min in heavy traffic) over 64 km via SR366 and A3. Our private transfer costs €140 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €200 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the Capodichino terminal, just after the baggage reclaim, holding a sign with your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
The Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO-listed coastline in Campania, with Positano, Amalfi and Ravello perched on cliffs along the SS163 Amalfitana road, about 60-90 km from Naples airport. The road is narrow, winding and cut into the cliff, and in summer it is slow with buses and scooters. The coast has limited-access rules, including odd and even number-plate days for non-resident vehicles in some seasons, and ZTL in the villages. Drivers stop at the nearest permitted point, and hotels in Positano are reached on foot from the road.
The main towns lie along the SS163. Positano is built vertically down to its pebble beach, Spiaggia Grande, and the church of Santa Maria Assunta has a majolica dome. Amalfi has its cathedral of Sant'Andrea on Piazza Duomo, with the Cloister of Paradise, and Atrani is a small village just east of it. Ravello stands about 350 metres above the sea, with Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone. Ferries connect the coast with Salerno, Naples and Sorrento, mostly from April to October. July and August are the most crowded months.
Public transport instead: SITA Sud bus coach from Salerno or Sorrento (after train or bus from the airport) to Amalfi / Positano, frequent in season, 2 changes. No rail on the Amalfi Coast; bus or ferry via Salerno or Sorrento.
