Getting from Preveza Airport (PVK) to Parga takes about 1h 10min by car on an empty road (70–90 min in heavy traffic) over 66 km via EO19. Our private transfer costs €160 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €230 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits in the arrivals area of the Aktion airport terminal, after baggage reclaim and the exit, holding a sign with your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
Parga is a small town on the Epirus coast, north of Preveza and facing the open Ionian Sea. From the airport the route crosses the strait through the Aktio - Preveza undersea tunnel, which has a toll, passes Preveza and then follows the national road north towards Igoumenitsa, past the beach villages of Kanali and Loutsa, before turning down to the coast. The distance is about 70 km. In July and August traffic slows on the final descent into the town, where streets are narrow and parking is scarce.
Parga is built in tiers around a bay, with the Venetian castle on the hill at its western end and a small islet with a chapel just offshore. The lower town is a tangle of steep, narrow lanes and steps that are mostly closed to cars, so drivers stop on the roads above the centre or along the seafront where access allows. Kryoneri beach is in front of the town, Valtos beach lies on the far side of the castle hill, and Lichnos beach is to the east. Boat trips run from the harbour to Paxos and to the mouth of the Acheron river near Ammoudia.
Public transport: No direct public service from the airport; the shortest combination is the passing KTEL Lefkada bus to Preveza and then a KTEL Preveza regional bus to Parga.
