Blue Lagoon from Keflavik Airport (KEF) by private transfer: €120 per car (1–3 people) or €170 per van (4–8), fixed per vehicle and identical to the checkout price. On the road it is 20 km via 43 and 41, roughly 20 min when traffic is light and 20–30 min when it is not.
Meeting point: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the passenger terminal at Keflavík Airport, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. Flight tracking is included, the first hour after landing is free waiting time, and the driver carries your bags to the car.
The Blue Lagoon lies in a lava field on the Reykjanes peninsula, between Keflavík Airport and the town of Grindavík, so it is the closest major attraction to the airport. The route follows Route 41 east for a few kilometres, then turns south onto Route 43, Grindavíkurvegur, which crosses moss-covered lava to the lagoon's access road. Entry to the lagoon must be booked in advance for a fixed time slot. Volcanic activity on the peninsula has led to temporary closures of the area and its roads, so it is worth checking the lagoon's status before travel.
The lagoon's car park is a short walk along a path through the lava to the main building, where the changing rooms, restaurant and entrance to the milky-blue water are located; cars and buses drop passengers at the car park. Two hotels, Silica and The Retreat, are part of the same complex. Many visitors stop here on the way from the airport to Reykjavík or on the way back to a flight, and the lagoon has a luggage storage point for that purpose. The mountain Þorbjörn rises behind the site.
Public transport instead: Destination Blue Lagoon coach Keflavík Airport - Blue Lagoon transfer from Keflavík Airport to Blue Lagoon, many times a day, following the Blue Lagoon's seasonal opening hours.
