Oia from Santorini Airport (JTR) by private transfer: €60 per car (1–3 people) or €85 per van (4–8), fixed per vehicle and identical to the checkout price. On the road it is 18 km, roughly 20 min when traffic is light and 20–30 min when it is not.
Meeting point: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the airport terminal, after baggage reclaim, holding a sign with your name. Flight tracking is included, the first hour after landing is free waiting time, and the driver carries your bags to the car.
Oia is the village on the north tip of Santorini, famed for its sunsets, about 20 km from the airport. The drive takes 30 to 35 minutes via Fira and the main caldera road, which is two-lane and slow behind buses. Cars are not allowed in the pedestrian centre of Oia, and parking at the entrance fills early. Traffic builds from the afternoon as visitors head for the sunset.
Oia has a marble-paved main path along the caldera rim lined with shops, galleries and cave-house hotels. The Castle of Agios Nikolaos at the western end is the main sunset viewing point, and the Ammoudi bay lies 300 steps below. Hotels have their own entrances along the path, and luggage is carried on foot or by a porter from the car park. The village is crowded from late afternoon, and quieter in the morning and in winter.
Public transport: No direct public service from the airport.
