Santorini → city centre · about 8 km · about 10 min · fixed price €45 per vehicle.
Price calculated. Change the date or destination if you like.
A private transfer from Santorini Airport (JTR) to Santorini city centre costs €45 per car for 1–3 passengers and €55 per van for 4–8. It is a fixed price for the whole vehicle, the same amount you pay when you book. The road distance is 8 km; the drive takes about 10 min with clear roads, so plan on 10–20 min at busy times.
Where the driver waits: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of the airport terminal, after baggage reclaim, holding a sign with your name. We track your flight and the first 60 minutes after landing are free; the driver helps with your luggage.
Santorini airport is at Monolithos on the east coast, about 6 km from Fira, the island's main town, and the drive takes 10 to 15 minutes along the road via Kartarados. Fira is perched on the caldera cliff, and its streets are narrow and steep, with limited vehicle access to the central lanes. Traffic is slow on the main road between Fira and Oia in July and August, particularly at sunset.
Fira stands on the rim of the caldera, with the old port Gialos far below, reached by cable car, a stepped path or by donkey. The main street Ypapantis is lined with shops and restaurants. Hotels with caldera views are in Fira, Firostefani and Imerovigli, which are linked by a walking path along the cliff. Vehicles stop at the edge of the pedestrian lanes, and the bus station is on the south side of Fira.
Public transport: Island buses run from Fira, the main town, which is the usual hub.
