St. Constantine and Helena (Sveti Konstantin i Elena) is the oldest seaside resort on the Bulgarian coast, about 10 km north of Varna city centre and still within the city limits. From the airport the road crosses Varna or skirts its northern districts and then runs along the coast road past the Euxinograd palace park and the university botanical garden. The drive is about 17 km. In summer the coast road between Varna and the resorts is busy in the late afternoon and evening.
The resort grew around the small monastery church of Saints Constantine and Helena, which still stands in its centre. Hotels and villas are set in a large wooded park along the shore, with mineral springs and several small beaches between breakwaters. The neighbouring complexes of Sunny Day and Riviera lie to the north, and the beaches of Kabakum and Golden Sands follow a few kilometres further on. Cars reach the hotels by the internal park roads; the paths along the shore are for pedestrians.
Public transport: The airport's official information lists only city bus 409 (to Varna centre and Golden Sands). Its published route runs from Varna along the coast road towards Golden Sands, but the timetable does not name a stop for St. Constantine and Helena, so no confirmed direct connection to the resort can be given.
