Price calculated. Change the date or destination if you like.
Buda Castle from Budapest Airport (BUD) by private transfer: €45 per car (1–3 people) or €65 per van (4–8), fixed per vehicle and identical to the checkout price. On the road it is 24 km via M4, roughly 35 min when traffic is light and 35–45 min when it is not.
Meeting point: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of Terminal 2A or Terminal 2B, whichever your flight arrives at, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. Flight tracking is included, the first hour after landing is free waiting time, and the driver carries your bags to the car.
Buda Castle stands on Castle Hill in district I, on the Buda side of the Danube and on the opposite side of the city from the airport. The drive first follows the airport expressway and Üllői út into central Pest, then crosses the river on one of the central bridges and climbs the hill, about 25 km in total. There are no tolls. The drive through central Pest is the slowest part, especially in weekday rush hours and when events close streets near the river.
The Castle District is a small walled quarter of cobbled streets on top of the hill. At its southern end is the Royal Palace, home to the Hungarian National Gallery and the Budapest History Museum, while the northern part holds Matthias Church, the Fisherman's Bastion and Holy Trinity Square, with views over the river to the Parliament. Vehicle access to the streets of the district is restricted, so drop-offs are usually made at the hotel entrance where entry is permitted or at the edge of the quarter. The Castle Hill Funicular links the palace with Clark Ádám tér by the Chain Bridge.
Public transport instead: BKK bus 100E Airport Express from Liszt Ferenc International Airport, arrivals level between Terminals 2A and 2B to Deák Ferenc tér (stops also at Kálvin tér and Astoria), HUF 2500.00 single ticket, around the clock; every 5-10 minutes during the day, every 20-40 minutes at night. BKK bus 16 from Deák Ferenc tér to Dísz tér (Castle District), 1 change. No direct public transport from the airport to Castle Hill: the 100E Airport Express ends at Deák Ferenc tér in Pest, where bus 16 continues across the river to Dísz tér in the Castle District.
