Budapest → Budapest · about 20 km · about 25 min · fixed price €40 per vehicle.
Price calculated. Change the date or destination if you like.
A private transfer from Budapest Airport (BUD) to Budapest costs €40 per car for 1–3 passengers and €60 per van for 4–8. It is a fixed price for the whole vehicle, the same amount you pay when you book. The road distance is 20 km via M4; the drive takes about 25 min with clear roads, so plan on 25–35 min at busy times.
Where the driver waits: The driver waits in the arrivals hall of Terminal 2A or Terminal 2B, whichever your flight arrives at, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. We track your flight and the first 60 minutes after landing are free; the driver helps with your luggage.
Budapest Airport lies in district XVIII on the south-eastern edge of the city, and the drive to Deák Ferenc tér in the inner city is a little over 20 km. The usual route follows the airport expressway into Üllői út, a long straight avenue that crosses the outer Pest districts and ends at Kálvin tér on the edge of the old town. There are no road tolls on this route. On weekday mornings and late afternoons Üllői út and the inner boulevards are often congested, which can add time to the last few kilometres.
The centre of Budapest is on the flat Pest bank of the Danube. District V holds the Parliament, St. Stephen's Basilica, Vörösmarty tér and the pedestrian Váci utca, while districts VI and VII around Andrássy út and the former Jewish quarter are full of hotels, restaurants and bars. Deák Ferenc tér, where three metro lines meet, is a short walk from most of these. Several streets in the old town are pedestrian, so cars stop on the nearest open street; the riverside hotels along the Pest embankment can usually be reached directly.
Public transport instead: BKK bus 100E Airport Express from Liszt Ferenc International Airport, arrivals level between Terminals 2A and 2B to Deák Ferenc tér (stops also at Kálvin tér and Astoria), HUF 2500.00 single ticket, around the clock; every 5-10 minutes during the day, every 20-40 minutes at night. BKK bus + metro 200E, then metro M3 from Terminal 2 to Kőbánya-Kispest metro station (M3 to the centre), day and night; at night 200E runs to Határ út for night buses, 1 change. BKK / MÁV-START bus + train 200E to Ferihegy railway station, then train from Terminal 2 to Budapest-Nyugati railway station — about 30 min, 1 change.
