Getting from Monastir Airport (MIR) to Port El Kantaoui takes about 30 min by car on an empty road (30–40 min in heavy traffic) over 24 km via RR82. Our private transfer costs €40 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €60 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits in the Arrivals Hall of Monastir Habib Bourguiba Airport, in the area for people meeting arriving passengers after the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
Port El Kantaoui is a purpose-built resort with a yacht marina on the coast north of Sousse, in the municipality of Hammam Sousse. From the airport the route follows RR92 and RR82 into Sousse and then the coastal avenues past Boujaafar beach and the hotel strip, about 24 km in total. There are no tolls. In July and August the beach avenues of Sousse and the roads into the resort are busy in the evening.
The resort is built around the marina, whose quays are lined with white houses, shops and restaurants in a pedestrian village. Hotels stretch along the beaches on both sides of the harbour, and two golf courses lie inland of the resort. Cars reach the hotels by the resort roads, while the marina village itself is walkable. Chott Meriem and Hammam Sousse are a short drive away, and the medina of Sousse is around 10 km to the south.
Public transport instead: Sahel Metro (SNCFT suburban line Sousse Bab Jedid - Monastir - Mahdia) train Sahel Metro from Habib Bourguiba Airport stop to Sousse Bab Jedid station (continue by road to Port El Kantaoui, about 10 km north), average frequency of 40 minutes; 46 scheduled services a day between 05:00 and 22:00 on the whole line (airport website). No direct public transport from the airport: the Sahel Metro ends at Sousse Bab Jedid, and the rest of the trip to Port El Kantaoui is by road; no official timetable for that leg was found.
