Sousse from Monastir Airport (MIR) by private transfer: €35 per car (1–3 people) or €50 per van (4–8), fixed per vehicle and identical to the checkout price. On the road it is 15 km via RR82, roughly 15 min when traffic is light and 15–25 min when it is not.
Meeting point: The driver waits in the Arrivals Hall of Monastir Habib Bourguiba Airport, in the area for people meeting arriving passengers after the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. Flight tracking is included, the first hour after landing is free waiting time, and the driver carries your bags to the car.
Sousse is the third-largest city in Tunisia and the commercial centre of the Sahel, about 15 km north-west of the airport. The road runs on RR92 and the regional road RR82 through Sahline and the outskirts of Sousse, then along the city boulevards towards the old town and the port. The trip has no tolls. Traffic in central Sousse is heavy at rush hours and on summer evenings, when the beach roads fill with visitors.
The medina of Sousse is a UNESCO World Heritage Site surrounded by ninth-century walls, with the Ribat and the Great Mosque near Bab el Bahr and the Kasbah with the archaeological museum at its upper corner. Cars cannot enter the lanes of the medina, so drop-offs are made on the boulevards along the walls. North of the centre the hotel zone stretches along Boujaafar beach towards Khezama and Sahloul, where most beach hotels have their own driveways.
Public transport instead: Sahel Metro (SNCFT suburban line Sousse Bab Jedid - Monastir - Mahdia) train Sahel Metro from Habib Bourguiba Airport stop to Sousse Bab Jedid station, next to the medina, average frequency of 40 minutes; 46 scheduled services a day between 05:00 and 22:00 on the whole line (airport website).
