Getting from Rimini Airport (RMI) to Riccione takes about 30 min by car on an empty road (30–40 min in heavy traffic) over 10 km. Our private transfer costs €75 for a car with 1–3 passengers or €110 for a van with 4–8 — the vehicle price you see is the price you pay at booking.
On arrival: The driver waits at the arrivals exit on the ground floor of the single passenger terminal of Rimini Federico Fellini Airport, just after baggage reclaim and passport control, holding a sign with your name. If the flight is late, the driver adjusts to the real landing time; 60 minutes of waiting are included and help with the luggage is part of the service.
Riccione is the next resort south of Rimini, and the airport lies almost on the boundary between the two towns, so this is one of the shortest transfers on the Riviera. The route runs south along the SS16 or the parallel seaside roads for about five kilometres, past the Rio Melo stream into the town. In summer, especially on weekend evenings, traffic on the seafront and around Viale Ceccarini can be slow, and parts of the centre are pedestrian, so the driver uses the nearest street open to cars.
Riccione's life centres on Viale Ceccarini, the shopping street that runs from the railway station area down to the sea and Piazzale Ceccarini. The beach is divided into numbered bathing establishments along the Lungomare della Libertà, with hotels lined up a block or two behind. North of the centre is the canal port with its fish restaurants; to the south lie the Abissinia and Fontanelle districts towards Misano. Most hotels can be reached by car, although some streets close to the sea are pedestrian in the evening during the season.
Public transport instead: Start Romagna trolleybus (Metromare) Metromare from Miramare Aeroporto stop (about 1 km walk from the terminal, across the SS16) to Riccione railway station, €2.00 single ticket, regular service through the day.
