Hondarribia from San Sebastian Airport (EAS) by private transfer: €65 per car (1–3 people) or €95 per van (4–8), fixed per vehicle and identical to the checkout price. On the road it is 2 km, roughly 10 min when traffic is light and 10–20 min when it is not.
Meeting point: The driver waits in the arrivals area on the ground floor of the San Sebastián Airport terminal, after you leave the baggage reclaim hall, holding a sign with your name. Flight tracking is included, the first hour after landing is free waiting time, and the driver carries your bags to the car.
Hondarribia is the town the airport belongs to: the runway sits on the edge of its municipality, beside the Txingudi bay where the Bidasoa meets the sea opposite Hendaye. The centre is only about 2 km from the terminal, reached along the N-638 through the Amute neighbourhood. The town has two distinct parts, the walled old town on a low hill and the Marina quarter below it by the water. In early September the Alarde parade, part of the Guadalupe festivities, closes central streets to traffic.
The old town is entered through the Santa Maria gate and climbs along Kale Nagusia, lined with stone houses and coats of arms, to the Plaza de Armas and the castle of Charles V, now a Parador. The church of Santa Maria de la Asuncion y del Manzano stands just below. The streets are narrow and cobbled with limited vehicle access, so cars usually stop at the edge of the walls. Down the hill, the Marina quarter around San Pedro street has fishermen's houses with painted balconies and pintxos bars, with the marina, the beach and the boat to Hendaye nearby.
Public transport instead: Lurraldebus (Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa), operated by Ekialdebus bus BI03 (Donostia (Gros) – Pasaia – Errenteria – Oiartzun – Irun – Hondarribia) from Aeropuerto de San Sebastián, bus stop B (direction Hondarribia) to Hondarribia town stops (Sabin Arana kalea, Foru kalea), every 30 min Monday to Friday, every 60 min on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (timetable October 2026).
