By the Platanus airport shuttle

The airport's own website links to the Platanus shuttle, which follows the arrivals schedule: the bus leaves about 30 minutes after every flight arrival, from the first flight to the last. You board at the North parking lot by the airport entrance. A one-way ticket costs €10.00 and a return €15.00; children under 6 travel free and one suitcase is included. Tickets are sold online or at the Platanus booth in front of the bus (cash or card), not by the driver. The bus ends at Split main bus station after about 30 minutes, beside the ferry port for Hvar, Brač and Šolta and a short walk from Diocletian's Palace and the Riva.

By city bus 37

Promet Split line 37 runs Trogir – Airport – Split. In the timetable valid from 8 September 2025, buses leave Trogir every 20 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 04:00 to 23:45, and stop at the airport a few minutes later. The airport sits in the Kaštela fare area, so a Split–Kaštela single costs €2.00 in the Promet Split app or at a ticket office and €4.00 bought from the driver, valid for 90 minutes (fares valid from 1 June 2026). It is a local bus with many stops along the coast, so it takes clearly longer than the shuttle and has little room for luggage.

By taxi or car

Taxis wait near the main terminal building while the airport is open; the fare is charged by the meter. By road the airport is 24 km from the centre, about 28 minutes without traffic, mostly along the D8 coast road through Kaštela and Solin. In summer the D8 gets slow. Diocletian's Palace is a pedestrian zone, so cars stop at its edge, by the Riva or the port.

Where you meet the driver

Split Airport has a single passenger terminal. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. We track your flight and you get 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, so a delay or a slow baggage belt is covered.

What to choose

Travelling light or catching a ferry: the Platanus shuttle at €10.00 is the obvious choice, as it runs after every flight and ends next to the ferry port. On a tight budget with a small bag: bus 37 from €2.00, if you do not mind a slower ride. With children, several suitcases, a hotel away from the bus station or a group of four or more, a private transfer saves the walk with luggage; one van for €65 covers up to eight people.

Good to know

  • Buy a bus 37 ticket in the Promet Split app: it costs half the driver's price.
  • The Platanus shuttle boards at the North parking lot, not in front of arrivals.
  • The shuttle ends at the main bus station, right by the ferry port for the islands.
  • Bus 37 runs from about 04:00 until close to midnight, every 20 minutes on weekdays.
  • Diocletian's Palace is pedestrian, so the last stretch to many apartments is on foot.
