The Malpensa Express, run by Trenord, stops at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2; the station at Terminal 1 is on floor -1, reached by an internal walkway. There are two routes into Milan. Trains to Milano Cadorna run every 30 minutes and take about 37 minutes, stopping at Busto Arsizio Nord, Saronno and Milano Bovisa. Trains to Milano Centrale take about 51 minutes and also stop at Milano Porta Garibaldi. Together that makes four departures an hour from the airport.
The first train leaves Terminal 2 at 05:37 and Terminal 1 at 05:43. The last service leaves Terminal 2 at 00:20 and Terminal 1 at 00:26. A ticket to any Milan station costs €15.00 for adults and €7.50 for children aged 4 to 13; under-4s travel free with a paying adult. Buy it on the Malpensa Express website, in the Trenord app or at the station.
The Lombardy Region sets a fixed fare for taxis between Malpensa and Milan: €114.00 from the airport to any street in the city of Milan, or the other way. The price is for the ride, not per passenger, and the regional tariff has been in force since 1 July 2024. Take a licensed taxi from the official rank outside arrivals. Addresses outside the city of Milan are not covered by this fare.
The drive is about 47 km on the A8 motorway and the city ring roads, about 51 minutes without traffic. The A8 into Milan is slow at weekday rush hours, and big trade fairs and Fashion Week add traffic in the centre. Inside the city, Area C around the Duomo is a congestion-charge zone, and the streets around the Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II are pedestrian, so a car stops at the nearest street open to traffic.
A private transfer Malpensa → Milan city centre costs €150 per car for 1–3 passengers and €190 per van for 4–8 passengers. The price is per vehicle, fixed and paid by card when you book, with luggage included. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup, and a child seat costs +€10. The driver takes you to your hotel, or to the nearest street open to cars if it is in the pedestrian area around the Duomo.

Malpensa has two terminals: Terminal 1, the main one, and Terminal 2, used mostly by low-cost airlines. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall of the terminal your flight lands at, after baggage reclaim, holding a sign with your name. We track your flight and you get 60 minutes of free waiting after landing.
One or two people with normal luggage: the Malpensa Express at €15.00 each is much cheaper than any car. Cadorna is quicker for the Duomo and the west of the centre; Centrale suits hotels near the station. Three passengers or more: compare three train tickets with one fixed taxi fare of €114.00 or a pre-booked car. With small children, a pushchair and suitcases, or a group of four to eight, one van at a fixed price takes you to the door without changes.
