Sorrento lies 52 km by road from Naples Capodichino Airport (NAP), at the end of the Sorrentine Peninsula. You can take one direct bus a few times a day, combine the airport bus with the Circumvesuviana train, or go door to door by car.
Short answer: the simplest public option is the direct Curreri bus from the airport to Sorrento train station: €13.00 and about 75 minutes, but only 8 departures a day (09:00 to 19:30). Otherwise take the Alibus to Napoli Garibaldi (about 15 min, €5.00) and the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento (72 min, €4.60), which runs every 30 minutes. By car it is 52 km, about 65 minutes without traffic. Our private transfer costs €120 per car (1–3 passengers) and €170 per van (4–8).

Curreri Viaggi runs the only direct scheduled bus from Naples Airport to Sorrento. In the current timetable it leaves the airport at 09:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:30, 16:30, 18:00 and 19:30; the 09:00 bus reaches Sorrento train station at 10:15, after stops in Meta, Piano di Sorrento and Sant'Agnello. The operator notes that times are indicative and can be longer in high season.
The Alibus links the airport with Piazza Garibaldi (Napoli Centrale) in about 15 minutes; a ticket costs €5.00 from the machines on the ground floor of the arrivals area, online or on board. From the Napoli P. Garibaldi station of the EAV Circumvesuviana, trains on the Napoli–Sorrento line run every 30 minutes, from 05:33 to 22:03, and take 72 minutes to Sorrento (timetable valid from 17 October 2026). The Napoli–Sorrento fare is €4.60; you can also tap a contactless card at the gates and the system charges the fare for your trip. The trains are local commuter trains with no luggage racks to speak of, and they are often full in summer.
The road route is 52 km: the A3 motorway towards Salerno, then the SS145 Sorrentina along the coast from Castellammare di Stabia. Without traffic it takes about 65 minutes. The SS145 is narrow and slow on summer weekends, and the centre of Sorrento around Piazza Tasso has a limited-traffic zone (ZTL), so check your hotel's access and parking before you drive in.
