Metro A then takes you to Malostranská, Staroměstská, Můstek and Muzeum; Prague's public transport authority (PID) gives about 35 minutes from the airport to the centre this way. Bus 100 goes to Zličín on metro line B in about 16 minutes, every 10 to 20 minutes, and takes about 45 minutes to the centre. The metro runs from about 05:00 to midnight.
One 90-minute ticket covers the bus and the metro: CZK 50 on paper, CZK 46 in the PID Lítačka app or CZK 55 by SMS; a 30-minute ticket (CZK 39) is too short for the whole trip. Suitcases up to 25 × 45 × 70 cm travel free; a larger one needs a CZK 20 luggage ticket. Paper tickets are sold in machines and at the DPP counters in the public areas of Terminals 1 and 2, and must be validated at the airport stop.
The AE bus runs direct from the airport to Praha hlavní nádraží, the main railway station, stopping in front of the station building; it connects there with metro line C and long-distance trains. The airport puts the journey at about 40 minutes and the operator's timetable at 33 minutes, with a bus every 10 to 30 minutes. A one-way ticket costs CZK 200, bought from the driver or at the Visitor Centre in the arrival halls. Ordinary PID tickets and 24- or 72-hour passes are not valid on the AE.
Night service in Prague runs from midnight to 04:30. The night bus 907 leaves from Terminal 2 every 30 minutes and links with the other night lines; PID gives about 50 minutes to the centre. The same 90-minute ticket applies.
The road route is about 18 km via Evropská avenue and takes about 35 minutes without traffic. The airport warns that road works at the Aviatická junction slow traffic at rush hours. The Old Town Square and the Charles Bridge are pedestrian, so a car stops at the nearest street open to traffic.
