Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) lies north-east of the city, 34 km by road from the centre. The RER B train is the only direct rail link, and since March 2026 there is no Roissybus.

The RER B serves all three terminals: Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1 station for Terminals 1 and 3, and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV for Terminal 2. The free CDGVAL shuttle links the terminals with the stations. Paris Aéroport gives about 25 minutes to Gare du Nord and about 28 minutes to Châtelet-Les Halles, where you can change to the metro and RER A. Trains run every 6 to 15 minutes, from about 04:50 until around midnight.
The Paris Région <> Aéroports ticket costs €14.00 (€7.00 reduced) for one journey from the airport to any station in the region. It can be loaded onto a Navigo Easy card or a smartphone. A monthly or annual Navigo pass covering all zones already includes the airport.
Paris taxis from the official rank at CDG charge a flat fare set by government order for 2026: €56.00 to the right bank (arrondissements 1–4, 8–12 and 16–20) and €65.00 to the left bank (5–7 and 13–15). The flat fare applies to direct trips between the airport and Paris inside the Périphérique, whatever the traffic or the time of day, and neither the driver nor the passenger can switch to the meter. A taxi booked in advance can add a booking supplement. Use only the official rank outside arrivals.
The Roissybus to Opéra stopped running at the end of February 2026. Its replacement, express bus 9517, links the airport with Saint-Denis Pleyel in about 30 minutes, where metro line 14 continues into Paris; it suits few visitors with luggage. After the last RER B, the Noctilien N140 (about hourly) and N143 (about every 30 minutes) night buses run from the terminals to Gare de l'Est, roughly between 00:30 and 05:30. Check the night-bus fare on the Île-de-France Mobilités site before you travel.
The road route is about 34 km via the A1 or the A3 and the Boulevard Périphérique, and takes about 44 minutes without traffic. Rush hours, events at the Stade de France and RER strikes can double that. Streets around the Louvre, Notre-Dame and parts of the Marais are pedestrian or restricted at times, so the car stops at the nearest street open to traffic.

Charles de Gaulle has three terminals, and Terminal 2 is split into halls 2A to 2G, each with its own arrivals area. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall of the terminal and hall your flight lands at, after baggage reclaim and the customs exit, holding a sign with your name. We track your flight and you get 60 minutes of free waiting after landing.
Travelling alone or as a couple: the RER B at €14.00 each is the cheapest way in and avoids the motorway queues. Two or three people heading for the right bank: the official taxi at €56.00 costs about the same as three RER tickets and goes to the door. For four to eight people, a family with a pushchair and suitcases, or a hotel far from Gare du Nord and Châtelet, one van at €130 in total is often simpler than splitting into two taxis.
The Paris Région <> Aéroports ticket costs €14.00, or €7.00 at the reduced rate. It covers the RER B to Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les Halles and the rest of the region.
Official taxis charge a flat fare: €56.00 to the right bank and €65.00 to the left bank of Paris, whatever the traffic. A taxi booked in advance can add a booking supplement.
